Jenni and Piers get married at The Alverton

Weddings do not come much more action packed than this one! This wedding was a real beauty! I loved how it naturally flowed through the day. Perfect for my style of photography! Everywhere I turned there was something to document. All the guests were so so happy to be a part of this special day and to be there witnessing Jenni and Piers getting married.

I was really happy to be available when they first got in touch because we got on so well from the start. I always want to make sure that I am right for a couple before bride and groom book me.  It is really important that we get on and that we are on the same page.

Onto the wedding ceremony, which was held in The Alverton’s Great Hall.  The space is really dramatic and allows me to be creative with the photographs. I was especially pleased with some wide shots of hall taking in the whole space.

The start of the Cornish summer did not disappoint and the sun shone down on us. Half way through the afternoon I went for a walk around the grounds of The Alverton with a very happy Jenni and Piers. As they caught up after just getting married I took them to a spot I had found. There was a bench right by the trunk of an impressive tree. The canopy gave some really lovely light. (Sunny days can sometimes be the most challenging for photos!)

The result was a really great black and white photograph of the couple, which is one of my favorites to date and has just won first prize in an international wedding photography competition!

A bit later on, the first dance got under way. It was full of energy and amazing to see! I captured the movement of the couple as they danced and performed their amazing routine and the atmosphere of everyone watching.

"We (and everyone else) absolutely adore your pictures! Thank you so so much!" Jenni and Piers
